8am – start the day off healthily, joining in for the free Parkrun at the Naracoorte Swimming lake
9.30am – post Parkrun coffee at a town café – and shakes for the kids
11.30am – swim at the free Swimming Lake and enjoy a picnic on the lawn for lunch
2pm – make your way to the Naracoorte Caves and go underground to beat the main heat of the day
6pm – freshen up from day and make your way for a sumptuous evening meal at the Avenue Inn
Saturday morning sleep in
10am – reservation at one of the local beauty salons for manis, pedis and massages
11am – wander through our fabulous retail stores
1pm – lunch on the deck or inside beside the fire at one of our fabulous and welcoming hotels
3pm – enjoy a viewing at the Art Gallery before moving next door to Wild Game Cellar door for afternoon drinks
Return to your local accommodation where you’ve arranged with one of our excellent local caterers for a grazing table ‘easy dinner’ and DIY cocktails to relax for the evening
Spend your day visiting local wineries, our art gallery, a little retail therapy on Smith and Ormerod Sts, The Sheep’s Back Museum to learn all of the town and area’s history and then make your way to your stunning historic accommodation at Naracoorte Homestead with optional in house dinner package for two.
Ask a local where the weekend’s footy or netball or hockey, tennis or soccer game/s are being held, come and join in and barrack for the local team.
Take a drive around our prosperous farming region to see many examples of modern farming including sheep, cattle, cropping, viticulture and successful land regeneration in action.
Bool Lagoon is home to many species of local flora and fauna, along with being a birdwatcher’s paradise.
The Sheeps Back Museum can still be easily visited in wet weather as the majority of it is undercover and with covered walkways. Excellent displays and information, educational and historical for the kids and the mature.
The Naracoorte Library is a modern and contemporary space that provides a flexible and vibrant area for our diverse community.
